Kava, Palakkad

Kava...

What to  say about this place! Can say simply awesome location  for lonely travelers. The place is about 6 kilometer from Malampuza Dam which is one of the hot spots of Travelers in South India. The place is a part of Malampuzha reservoir, a beautiful shore actually. The place is surrounded by Western Ghats. The greenery and the calmness of the place makes this place thoroughly enjoyable for lonely travelers and for families. You can see agricultural fencing( Mine fence) all over the area since there are lots of wild attacks in that  area. You can spot humans very rarely,if you are reaching there around 9am you can see local tribes( Karuvan) who are going to the forest for collecting honey. We can buy pure honey from them but you have to wait till 5pm.

You can see a lot of wild animals browsing on the grass lands. Don't go beyond a distance,  when i visited there the local tribes scolded me for entering into the forest because they had spotted an elephant there.

There are lots of Palms in the shore which gives a beautiful scenery for anyone going there with a digi cam. Since it is a boarder place we can get public transport only during some specific time. ( From Malampuzha-Bus timing-8.30am, 12pm:  From Kava- 9.30am and 1pm). There is no hotels/shops near to the place so you have to keep some food and water since the place is  bit hot. You can get tea and snacks from Ayyappan Potta which is 3 km away from Kava on the way to Velampotta border.

NB:- There are a few nice places are there to watch viz Mayiladumpara and Karuvanpetta water falls. Its in the forest itself you cant track back the route, so better if you get any tribal assistance.
